FAQ & How To

Why does my audio need Mastering?
Mastering is the final step before Duplication or Radio Play. It is important to ensure that your music will be competitive and consistent throughout the entire album. It is also important to get a new prospective on your project.

Can I have 1 single song Mastered?
Yes. We have no minimum or maximum limits on songs for Mixing or Mastering.

How long will it take to receive my finished songs?
Mastering jobs can be completed within 48hrs but Mixing may take longer based on the complexity of the project. We usually deliver within 2 day.

Can Mastering fix musical/vocal mistakes or remove distortion?
Musical/vocal mistakes or distortion cannot be fixed by mastering. However we do have the ability to fix Mixing mistakes such as level adjustment and eq. We offer quality mixing services if you need a professional Mixing engineer and quality recording services if you need a professional Recording engineer. Distortion cannot be fixed during Mastering or Mixing but it can however be masked if you do not wish to re-record the part.

What media formats do you accept for Mastering or Mixing?
For Mastering we accept: .WAV or .MP3
For Mixing we accept: Properly labelled and configured .wav, Pro Tools session files, Sonar Cakewalk files, Cubase session files, Logic session files

How do I prepare my audio tracks for Mastering?

Ensure each song is saved as a separate .wav or .mp3 (you can put then all together in a zip or rar archive for upload). Be sure that the audio is the same bit and sample rate that it was recorded at, (24 bit 44.1khz, 16 bit 44.1 khz, 24 bit 88.2 khz etc...) be sure that you do not dither down your audio from the recorded format. Please also ensure that there are no effects on the Master bus and that the audio is not clipping. It is better to have the volume a little low than too high. Our final Master will make sure it is loud enough.

How do I prepare my audio tracks for Mixing?
Ensure each instrument or vocal track is separated and saved as .wav in the same folder. Organize your data by putting tracks in the appropriate folders for each song. Ensure that all tracks for each song are the same in length and tempo settings; this will ensure that we can import them into our workstations and everything will line up correctly. You may also send us your Pro Tools, Sonar, Cubase
or Logic sessions. Be sure to include a .wav or .mp3 demo for each song.
